BENEFIT OF READING
The school holiday  is coming again. Happy for it ???? Yup…..very happy….. but  it will be bored for those who loved to go to school. Hik..Hik…Hik…Those who love to go to school may be be’coz of happy to see friends ????? How about having a lot of school work given by your teachers ??? Are you happy ???? He…He…He…
One thing that I must do with my children for this school holidays are……(1) prepare them for next year (2013)….of course related to academic….
(2) force them to read books or newspaper everyday……me myself have to do it fist…hik..hik…hik…
(3) arrange their belonging especially their books, toys etc…….
(4) helping their mom of course to look after their new born  sister ( 4 months old )….
(5) still in mind……… ( to be continued )

I always urge my children to read. When you read a lot, there will be more and more knowledge we get, we know and the most important thing we will realize that we only know a little about everything. It sound a little bit weird....right ??? But that is what i always feel when i read either books, magazines , newspapers or even brochures......

There are so many things we will have and know by reading. Even when you want to go somewhere or want to go to  any places you have to read the directions through maps or signs.....am i right ???
so start reading now...and ....you will not regret :)

Some Useful Speed Reading Techniques

With the alarmingly increasing availability of information to people nowadays, need for speed reading is also on the rise. It is a collection of various techniques and methods that help in increasing your reading speed without actually reducing your retention and comprehension capabilities. This is becoming more and more popular among students and professionals alike. This is because students benefit through this skill by covering more chapters than their contemporaries. In the corporate world, employees with this skill are able to comprehend various reports, newspapers, emails, correspondence and other technical papers faster. Thus, it improves the efficiency and productivity of the person along with providing him more time to deal with other facets of life.

When Children Fail in School: Understanding Learned Helplessness

Learned helplessness is the belief that our own behavior does not influence what happens next; that is, behavior does not control outcomes or results. For example, when a student believes that she is in charge of the outcome, she may think, “If I study hard for this test, I’ll get a good grade.” On the contrary, a learned helpless student thinks, “No matter how hard I study for this test, I’ll always get a bad grade.” In school, learned helplessness relates to poor grades and underachievement, and to behavior difficulties. Students who experience repeated school failure are particularly prone to develop a learned helpless response style. Because of repeated academic failure, these students begin to doubt their own abilities, leading them to doubt that they can do anything to overcome their school difficulties. Consequently, they decrease their achievement efforts, particularly when faced with difficult materials, which leads to more school failure. This pattern of giving up when facing difficult tasks reinforces the child’s belief that he or she cannot overcome his or her academic difficulties.
Learned helplessness seems to contribute to the school failure experienced by many students with a learning disability. In a never-ending cycle, children with a learning disability frequently experience school difficulties over an extended period, and across a variety of tasks, school settings, and teachers, which in turn reinforces the child’s feeling of being helpless.

Sometimes  i even laugh lounder than usual and without I notice that I am reading in a bus. Release tension, that is the purpose of reading. Different people will think that reading must be done in proper way. Academic books or journals.

THINK POSITIVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL

THINK POSITIVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL

We must believe that success is within the reach of every individual. We can succeed if we really want to and if we are willing to work hard at it. Believe in yourself is the key to success. Once we have that there are some rules as outlined below, which will lead us to succeed to the extent that we think we deserve.

A burning desire to succeed is important. Merely hoping is not enough. We must think success and we must visualize success.

What does success really mean to us ? We must picture ourself as the person we want to be and resolve to make to make ourself that person. Set a realistic goal but do not sell ourself short either.

Picture the attainment of success in concrete terms-being living in a big bungalow with a swimming pool inside, enjoying a vacation every year, driving MPV or SUV car and being a popular actor or actress ???? Go ahead, dream your dreams. The person who stop dreaming will stop living and achieving.

So , get us start dreaming now………………..

BUT WE MUST NOT FORGET THIS….….LIFE IS NOT PERFECT. Mistakes are often not really mistakes, but errors in judgement. Accept them as necessary to the learning process. Let us be guided by Thomes Watson, the founder of IBM. He once said “The way to succeed is to double your failure rate”. The great inventors of electricity, rockets failed a thousand times before they succeeded.

All successful people have healthy self-images and always be positive all the time. We cannot be a success if we think we are a failure. Start today, think of ourself as a success and visualise the end result. THINK POSITIVE AND STRIVE FOR SUCCESS.
